Overview

As one of the most celebrated racing series on the history of Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile or FIA, the GT3 European Championship has attracted Alpina, a German based car tuner, to compete with race cars from the womb of known manufacturers, such as the Ferrari F430, Aston Martin DB9, Lamborghini Gallardo, Jaguar XKR, Chevrolet Corvette and Porsche 911. Alpina unveiled their B6 GT3 race car and will make its first public appearance on March in the Geneva motor show.

The B6 GT3 is designed based on the present status of BMW series of 6. It is powered by 4.4-liters of supercharged engine V8, and releases a massive amount of 530 horsepower and has 535 lb-ft of torque. It is also combined with a six-speed X-trac sequential gearbox.

It runs with Michelin tires that are measured 18-inches and it actually weighs 1,350kg. This Alpina is a light sports race car with a decreased center of gravity.

The Alpina GT3 is truly capable of blazing the racer's lane with an amazing distance of 0-100km/h in just the period of 3.9 seconds. Nordschleife has just recorded and noted its top speed of a remarkable 285km/h. Now that is what racing is all about.

The said race car manufacturer is presently making negotiations with several known names in motorsport in order to complete the four driving seats available in its customer teams. Teams will have the privilege to race the Alpina in Belgium and Germany and other long-range races.
